Liverpool are closing in on the free transfer of Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, according to the Telegraph.
The report claims that the shot-stopper, who enjoyed a solid campaign in the Championship, looks set to move to Anfield when his contract expires at the end of this month.
Bogdan, who is 27-year-old, recently admitted that he's ready to ply his trade at a higher level, with it now being suggested that he will complete a move to Merseyside sooner rather than later.
In fact, he stated:"I am confident that I will soon decide my fate.
"My goal is to play at a higher level, but it also depends on where you get a chance. We'll see if everything is decided in the next week or two."
It appears, then, that the Reds' hierarchy are ready to bring him to the club as they go about about adding to their options in the goalkeeping department. In fact, the same report claims that the Hungary international will act as back-up to Simon Mignolet, who enjoyed a fine second half to the season at the club.
Ok, so the signing of Bogdan isn't exactly going to get the Liverpool faithful too excited, but it's certainly a positive sign that the club are moving quickly this summer.
At the end of the day, after last season's poor campaign, improvement is needed at the club, and they're certainly not hanging around. James Milner, of course, is already set to sign for the club, and the Manchester City man will act as a valuable member of the squad under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers.
It's crucial, though, that they continue to press ahead with dealings in the near future, with additions up front surely a priority.
