BT Sport rolled out the big guns in Mesut Ozil, Jose Mourinho, Gareth Bale and more in their new ad for Champions League coverage from next season.

Taking over from Sky Sports, BT Sport Europe is the new home of European football for the 2015-16 season.

In a series of ads, which can be seen below, the likes of Mourinho, Olivier Giroud and Didier Drogba were all surprised by a tickertape cannon blasted mid-way through their autocue presentations.

Here’s the Arsenal one…

And the Chelsea one…

And one with Drogba and Bale…

Speaking to BT Sport, Ozil admitted that the Champions League is the pinnacle of club football and that the Gunners will be focussing on an improved showing in the competition next season after crashing out against Monaco this year.

“Winning the World Cup is obviously the pinnacle for us players because it’s the biggest stage in football. Among clubs, the Champions League is similarly the greatest title available and our aim is to win this title and I want to win it as a player.”

And when asked which team he’d most want to come up against in the latter stages, there was only one choice for the Germany star.

“I’d like to play against Real Madrid, against my old friends,” Ozil continued. “And then I’d get to see Ramos, Benzema and Ronaldo.”

As for Giroud, the Frenchman picked Bayern Munich as his toughest opponent faced in the competition.

“Even though we have beaten them two times, they’re a great team, they play well together and they have experience of the Champions League,” Giroud told BT Sport.

Next season, BT Sport Europe is the new home of top European football, with all UEFA Champions League matches and all UEFA Europa League matches exclusively live on BT Sport. Visit
