CM Punk hasn't exactly enamoured himself to WWE fans since walking out on the company last year.
As he prepares for a new career in the UFC, the Chicago-native has come out several times in recent months to condemn various aspects of, and individuals in, pro wrestling.
And Punk's one-man vendetta against the WWE seems to have continued this week as he unleashed an angry twitter message in the direction of one of the names most closely associated with the business, Hulk Hogan.
What appears to have started as some lightweight Stanley Cup related banter on the part of Hogan quickly turned nasty with CM Punk's aggressive response.
Has a point?
CM Punk - real name Phil Brooks - is a die-hard Chicago Blackhawks fans and, after his team went down 3-2 at home to the Lightning to make the Finals series 2-1 in Tampa's favor, he was clearly irked by what he saw as gloating from a bandwagon fan in Hulk Hogan.
Punk's jibe at Hogan over his issues with player pronunciation were in reference to a pre-game TV segment in which the self-claimed Lightning fan had a bit of a problem recalling center Steven Stamkos and head coach Jon Cooper.
CM Punk used to be one of the most popular Superstars in the WWE and when his future in the business was in doubt during 2014 there was a big following hoping to see him patch up his differences with the WWE and make a comeback.
Since his high profile departure, though, the fighter has burnt a lot of bridges with fans with his actions. He recently called out the WWE for it's fake aspects and had done his best to leave that part of his life behind him.
In calling out Hulk Hogan, one of the WWE's long-standing supporters and an individual who continues to embody a company man persona, so aggressively it won't exactly help Punk get any of those lost fans back on side. Whether he is at all concerned about that right now is another question.
