Daniel Sturridge has excited Liverpool fans with his latest post on the social media picture-sharing site Instagram.

The 23-year-old forward has posted a promising video of himself in Toronto working with specialists to make sure he is fit and ready for the start of the new season.

The star striker has suffered a series of injuries in 2013/14 and will look to put that right in time for Liverpool’s first Premier League game in August.

The video, which depicts Sturridge balancing on one-leg whilst catching a tennis ball, was posted on 9th June and has already had over 40k ‘likes’.

The striker played just 12 times in the league this season, scoring only four goals in the process. This was a stark contrast to last season's output of 21 goals in just 29 games for Liverpool.

Liverpool fans will be hoping the Birmingham-born England international will be firing on all cylinders come the start of the new season.

They have good reason to be optimistic too, Sturridge has netted the Reds 40 goals in three season at Anfield and only his recent injuries have hampered his goal-scoring form.

Sturridge is already certain to miss England’s European Championship qualifier against Slovenia on Sunday.
