Arizona Cardinals had one of their most successful seasons in the NFL in 2014, but ultimately it was injuries that prevented a good campaign from becoming a great one.

The Cardinals weathered an incredible storm during the last campaign as they managed to win 9 of their first 10 games of the season despite placing active sacks leader John Abraham (concussion) and star defensive player Darnell Dockett (torn ACL) on injured reserve early in the season.

Linebacker Daryl Washington was also suspended for the whole of 2014 due to his repeated violations of the NFL's drug program, but it was quarterback Carson Palmer's absence that the Cardinals missed the most.

Terrible injury

Arizona initially coped with the loss of Palmer due to a nerve problem for three games earlier in the year, before a torn ACL eventually cut the 35-year-old's season short.

St. Louis Rams safety Mark Barron caused the injury when he sacked the signal caller in the Cardinals' 31-14 win over the Rams in Week 10. That victory gave Arizona an 8-1 record, but the team would go on to lose five out of their last eight games (including the playoff against Carolina Panthers) without Palmer.

Massive recovery

It is safe to say that the former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback was the key reason why Arizona played so well during the opening couple of months of the 2014 season, and Cardinals fans will love the latest news on Palmer, with the 35-year-old stating that he is 100 per cent fit now.

"I'm ready. I'm excited. I'm 100 percent. I'm cleared," Palmer told ESPN on Monday. "I can do everything. I've tested out. Gotten stronger every week, every month, just ready to get going."

No doubt the Cardinals will challenge Seattle Seahawks for the NFC West title again next season, but how well do you think they will do? Let us know below.
