WWE: John Cena breaks nose during match with Wade Barrett

The WWE have been having an awful time of things with injuries of late and it doesn't seem like stopping any time soon.

Daniel Bryan had to vacate a Championship for the second time in a year after a reoccurrence of his shoulder injury while Goldust will be out for around four months after surgery of his own. Then you go down to NXT where both Sami Zayn and Hideo Itami are out for a significant time leaving the touring show severely depleted following Kevin Owens' promotion.

And it is the man that Owens is currently feuding with on the Main Roster - John Cena - that has become the latest WWE Superstar to suffer an injury.

Nose Woes

According to a report from a fan who was in attendance at WWE's live house show in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Cena was injured in the United States Championship open challenge match.

It was Bad News Barrett who answered the call and faced Cena, and it seems that the King of the Ring winner managed to break Cena's nose somehow during the match which carried on despite the amount of blood that was pouring from the Champ's nose.

Wrestling Inc received a picture from a fan who was in attendance at the show. It showed Cena after the match with bloody clearly dripping from his nose, down his mouth. They posted it on their Instagram account.

No Raw Match

This will explain why Cena did not participate in a match on last night's Monday Night Raw, with Neville having a choice between going up against either Cena or Owens for the US and NXT titles respectively. Neville chose the NXT Belt and lost to Owens after a pop up powerbomb.

One Twitter user and WWE fan took a photo of Cena from Raw showing his nose which clearly had some stitches in it.

A broken nose won't keep Cena off television at all, but it could stop him from competing in the ring for another week or so, just like he was yesterday. It's not a long term thing, but it will still annoy the WWE Creative team who will have to come up with more imaginative reasons to stop the US Open Challenge.
