Manchester United will be offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic this summer.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the Croatian forward, who only joined the La Liga outfit one year ago, may well move on in the near future after a disappointing final few months of the season last term.
Despite his end of season struggles, Mandzukic still managed 12 La Liga goals in his debut campaign for Atletico, but it appears that the former Bayern Munich man could now be heading to the Premier League.
Manchester United, then, may well decide to bring him to English soil, while the same report goes in to reveal that the duo of Manchester City and Arsenal have been linked with his signature of late, so it looks set to be an interesting summer for the man who was brought in to replace Chelsea striker Diego Costa.
Mandzukic, who is now 29-years-old, has enjoyed a fine career so far, and in fact is keen on a move to the Premier League, according to the same report.
United in need
And it wouldn't come as a major surprise if United, under the Louis van Gaal regime, opted to sign him over the coming months, with the club clearly in need of improvement in the attacking department.
In terms of scoring goals, last season proved a tricky one for the Manchester United strikers, with the likes of Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and Co. failing to hit top form.
Ultimately Falcao was sent on his way at the end of the 2014/15 campaign, while the future of Van Persie is seemingly uncertain. Wayne Rooney will certainly be looking to score more goals next term, while youngster James Wilson will be hoping for more chances as he continues his development.
And, there's no doubt about it, if United are offered Mandzukic, then he'd make a fine coup for the club this summer. One thing's for sure, he brings with him a great deal of experience and would hand the club another option when on the attack.
Teams would certainly struggle to handle the Atletico man and Marouane Fellaini when United's wingers go about delivering the ball into the box. If the club's hierarchy manage to pull off a deal for the 29-year-old and secure the services of an exciting young striker, then United fans will certainly be excited about their new-look strike-force. One thing's for sure, it's going to be an extremely busy summer for the club.
