WWE announced a few months ago that they were returning WWE Tough Enough as a Network exclusive competition.
They have since had thousands of applications from hopeful wrestlers, models and athletes who dreamed of a future in WWE.
The closing date was last Friday and since then officials have worked over the weekend to narrow the finalists down to just 40.

Of the 40 announced, there are a few notable names:
Chelsea Green, the physiotherapist called Megan Miller who portrayed Daniel Bryan's mistress last year on WWE TV.
Adam Ohriner, also known as The Big O, who is a professional wrestler known as a good friend of Zack Ryders. He appeared on his Youtube show a few years ago and has since gone through wrestling training and looks to have turned a few heads this year.

There are set to be ten men and three women announced as the final participants for the actual show which begins on June 23rd. It is being reported though that most of the finalists are either fitness models, bodybuilders, athletes or independent wrestlers from around the world.
It is worth noting that there is no British representation at this year's competition, which is shocking given the amount of British talent that applied to the gruelling competition.
Most of the finalists are American and some are known to WWE from try-outs or as former workers for the company.
The finalists will now be advertised on WWE TV over the next few weeks as WWE invites the viewers to choose their final 13 participants. The 40 finalists will now go on to the mini bootcamp which will be held in the Performance Centre this Wednesday June 10th. It will then be aired on the WWE Network next week.
Finalists with then meet this year's judges who include; WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, former World Champion Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan and Former Divas Champion Paige. They will also be trained by WWE Legends Booker T, Billy Gunn and Lita.
The Tough Enough app is now available to download to allow the WWE Universe to vote for their favorites out of the final 40, ten of which were revealed on last night's Raw. The others will be revealed on WWE TV in the coming weeks allowing viewers to vote for their favourite.
This then leads up to the actual show that begins on June 23rd and allows the winners, one male and one female to both be crowned Tough Enough and win a WWE contract worth $250,000.
