New Liverpool striker Danny Ings has expressed his joy at joining the Merseyside outfit in his most recent post to the online social media website Twitter.
Following the news that he will join Liverpool on July 1, subject to a medical, Ings posted this message: “Thanks for your messages. Delighted to be joining #LFC. A special club with great players. I will give everything to be successful."
Ings is joining Liverpool on a free transfer after scoring 11 goals this season for the now relegated Burnley.
The 22-year-old started his career in League Two with Bournemouth, then spent a year in the Conference South on-loan before moving to Burnley in 2010.
The forward has bagged 43 career goals so far and should have his best years ahead of him in a Liverpool shirt.
The Winchester born forward has also worked his way into the England Under-21 team netting four goals in nine appearances for the Three Lions.
Ings will join up with Liverpool’s other attacking players, Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Ricky Lambert once he completes his merseyside move.
Ings is expected to play a significant part in Liverpool’s pre-season and will be in contention to start in Liverpool’s first Premier League match in September.
