Good morning Arsenal fans. We hope you slept well, had a good breakfast and are going about your days with unerring panache.
Whilst in truth we’re not all that concerned with your morning routines or daily habits we do have something to offer you that we hope you’re interested in. Since you’ve arrived at this article we’re going to assume that you know it’s a place to get the latest news on Arsenal, and by god are you correct.
Below we’ve assembled a collection of the latest and greatest rumours concerning the Gunners, including transfer rumours and a spot of team news. What are you waiting for? Get stuck in!
Alvaro Negredo has only just been purchased by Valencia, but the Spanish side are already trying to sell him back to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool two of the clubs who have been offered his services.
The ex-Man City man was loaned out to Valencia last summer, with an agreement in the clause stating the La Liga outfit had to buy him when his temporary spell ended. Well, they have, but they want to offload him for around £24 million due to the fact he was in relatively poor form this season just gone.
It’s said though that Arsene Wenger has turned down the opportunity after being offered him, with Brendan Rodgers having done the same.
That might come as a surprise to Arsenal fans given that they’ve been hotly linked with acquiring an out-and-out goalscorer this summer, though there’s no doubt the fact that Negredo has struggled since injuring his shoulder after his first few months with City will have factored into his decision.
Elsewhere it’s coincidentally Man City who have made the first move to sign Raheem Sterling, according to reports. The England international is believed to be a top target of Wenger’s, but don’t worry Arsenal fans Liverpool are said to have rejected an initial bid to the tune of £25m plus add-ons.
Whether not that means Wenger will be pushed into making an offer of his own is anyone’s guess, though it can be assumed that Gunners supporters wouldn’t mind him kicking off the summer transfer window by signing an already-established talent.
Elsewhere we turn to a bit of yesterday’s flavour - don’t worry, still relevant - where Mesut Ozil confirmed that last season may have been the hardest of his career.
Despite playing well in the second-half of the campaign the German has admitted he found it incredible difficult to come back after an injury sustained during the 2-0 loss to Chelsea. Bad times, Mesut.
Arsenal fans, what do you think to the stories from today? Should Wenger sign Negredo? Should he bid for Sterling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below.
