The Champions League pits the continent's finest players against each other in a thrilling competition like no other. But whilst almost everyone will know who won, and how well their team did, few will appreciate the finer details of each players individual performances.
One such detail is the accuracy in which players can pass the ball. So allow us to correct this for you, with the three most accurate passers from this season's edition, won last week by Barcelona.
To qualify only players who attempted over 200 passes were included.
3) TONI KROOS
Few will be surprised by the inclusion Kroos. The Real Madrid star made his name for Bayern Munich, in which time he won the treble at the club before his switch to the Spanish capital.
The metronymic midfielder completed a staggering 95.07 percent of his passes in the Champions League this season. The German international amassed over 850 passes before his side were beaten by Juventus in the semi-final.
2) ASIER ILLARRAMENDI
The relatively sidelined holding midfielder might have raised a few eyebrows with his appearance is this list. And his performances this season could earn the 25-year-old a regular run in the team next season.
The Spaniard completed 95.33 percent of his passes this season, just edging his Madrid team mate Kroos to second place in the list.
1) NACHO MONREAL
If Illarramendi raised eyebrows at number two, then Monreal's inclusion at the top-spot might just blow them clean off. The Arsenal left-back has placed his passes so precisely this season that 96.89 percent of them have found their target.
Thats a total of 225 completed passes, not bad for a defender. Monreal 29, has shown this season just how important he is to the Gunners and he will be hoping his top Champions League performances will stand him in good stead for the beginning of the new season.
