Newcastle United need a striker - simple as that, but who? Charlie Austin of course.
Austin has had the dream career of any footballer, the inspiring story of a how a young boy went from playing non league football for his local team, to playing in the Premier League. What a story.
He wasn't handed his opportunity on a plate like a lot of players are, he had to work for it. He earned his right to call himself a Premiership player, and that sort of thing is what every Newcastle fan dreams of. They would adore a player like Austin leading the line for them next season.

Austin was one of the stars of the Premier League last season and as a result of this he has been called up by Roy Hodgson and England. He scored 18 goals for a team that were relegated last season, that is phenomenal form.
o play that well for team that were relegation fodder from the very start of the season, they never really stood a chance of staying up, is amazing. He didn't have a great deal of service so he did a lot of the hard work in midfield for himself. These types of players are very rare and Newcastle cannot, I repeat, cannot let the opportunity to sign him go to waste.

Similarities with Shearer?
Austin is very Alan Shearer like, he is a hungry English striker with a real passion for what he does. He thrives in a raucous environment and loves a good crowd behind him. These are all reasons why Newcastle United would be the perfect club for him. If he was to go to Newcastle, he would instantly become a hero among the Geordie nation as he is an English striker with a proven record in the Premier League.
He has so much to gain and nothing to lose by going to Newcastle. If he was to score a few goals within the first few games then he would be loved. If the Newcastle fans like you, I can only imagine how it would feel when you're on the pitch. Newcastle fans have a habit for making their heroes feel like Gods among men when they step on to that pitch, and all you have to do gain that love and affection, is show desire and passion for the club and the game.
Newcastle fans don't demand a trophy every season, they have been without a trophy for 47 years now. All they want to see is their players show desire to win, passion for the club and a little ambition.
That's why players like Daryl Janmaat and Jack Colback, who have only been at the club for a season, are already loved by the Geordie nation. Newcastle haven't had a hero or someone to worship for a while now, and I believe that if Austin was to make that 300 mile journey up the A1, he would fall in love with the club, and the club with him.
It would be a match made in heaven, so don't waste the opportunity to give Newcastle fans a new hero, they could do with somebody to love and adore on that team. They have a team of foreigners who mainly see Newcastle as a stepping stone for their own careers, not good enough. They need Charlie Austin and so much more.
Austin would never look back and neither would the fans. Make it happen Ashley, make it happen.
