Mesut Ozil has revealed that Jurgen Klopp is a common topic of conversation in the Arsenal dressing room.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager has been linked with a move to a Premier League club, and that speculation hasn’t gone unnoticed by the playing staff at the Emirates.

In an interview with German newspaper Bild, as relayed by the Daily Mail, Ozil explained that his teammates have asked him about compatriot Klopp.

Ozil said: “[Klopp] is a much-discussed person. Not only in the newspapers, but also among the players.

“Some of my colleagues asked me what Klopp is like as coach and man.

“I’ve never had him as a coach, but his success speaks for itself. Klopp has a great personality. I like the way he approaches things. He seems very relaxed, but he remains a great professional.”

Arsenal currently have three German World Cup winners in their squad, and the opportunity to work with Ozil, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker might be something that sways Klopp towards a move to north London.

However, it doesn’t appear that the Gunners are prepared to part company with Arsene Wenger just yet. The Frenchman – who lifted a record-equalling sixth FA Cup last month – signed a three-year
contract extension in 2014.

Nevertheless, Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League since 2004 and that is why many fans have grown impatient with the experienced coach.

There is always pressure on any top-flight manager, especially when the likes of Jurgen Klopp are available on the market. Wenger needs to continue strengthening his current squad, and Ozil also
believes that two of his international teammates would make great acquisitions.

The 26-year-old – who joined Arsenal for £42.5m in 2013 – is confident that defenders Mats Hummels and Benedikt Howedes would easily adapt to the English game.

Speaking in the same interview, Ozil added: “In principle, I would recommend every player to go to England. The Premier League is the best league in the world.

“Players like Mats and Benedict certainly have the potential to succeed in the big clubs [in England].”
