Arsenal could make a move for La Liga star Grzegorz Krychowiak as they line up an alternative to Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who they fear is heading to rivals Manchester United.
This has been reported by the Telegraph, who claim that the north London outfit have in fact been given a boost in the race to sign the Sevilla star, with the player having made the Stellar Group his new representatives.
It appears, then, that with the company also looking after Gunners 'keeper Wojciech Szczesny, Arsenal may well be able to bring the highly rated midfielder to north London this summer, but may well have to fight off the competition.
In fact, as well as Arsene Wenger and Co. at the Emirates, the same report goes on to reveal that the trio of Chelsea, Manchester United and Southampton have an interest in the player, who has a buyout clause of £22 million.
There's no doubt about it, then, it looks set to be a busy summer for Krychowiak, who may well head to England's elite division sooner rather than later.
Arsenal are seemingly in the driving seat to secure the player's services, but it remains to be seen as to whether the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United step up their interest.
It appears, though, that Arsenal are only moving for the 25-year-old, as they're expecting initial transfer target Schneiderlin to join Manchester United.
The Southampton midfielder, who has been rated at £25m, is regarded as one of the best in the division, so it's certainly not surprising that the Red Devils hierarchy are looking to bring him to Manchester.
Good news for United
Let's be honest, Manchester United fans will be extremely pleased if the club manage to pull off the deal to sign Schneiderlin this summer. At the end of the day, over the course of the past couple of years, the Frenchman has been one of the standout players in the division, and would only improve Louis van Gaal's options at the Theatre of Dreams.
In truth, Schneiderlin could prove the missing piece in the club's midfield, with Van Gaal then seemingly in need of improving his attack and defence before the start of next season.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have done well to look elsewhere, and Krychowiak represents a fine alternative for Arsene Wenger. Ultimately, the midfielder has enjoyed a fine season in La Liga, and may well excel in the Premier League, as he continues to develop into a top player.
