Chelsea have made a bid involving goalkeeper Petr Cech for Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to the Mirror.
The report claims that Blues boss Jose Mourinho has decided he wants to bring the versatile Gunners midfielder to Stamford Bridge, however the Blues' move has been quickly turned down by Arsene Wenger and Co. at the Emirates.
In fact, it has been suggested that the Gunners chief sees Oxlade-Chamberlain as a key part of his long term plans in north London, as the club go in search of landing the Premier League title sooner rather than later.

It appears, then, that Chelsea won't be able to bring the versatile player to the club, with Mourinho seemingly making it hard for Arsenal to sign Cech, who looks set to leave Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later.
Cech wants the move
The Mirror go on to report that Cech is Arsenal's No.1 transfer target this summer, and the club are still hopeful of securing his services in a cash only deal worth around £10 million.

It's far from certain, however, as to whether the Stamford Bridge hierarchy will sell the 'keeper to a direct rival despite their close relationship with the veteran. The report stats that Cech does want to move to Arsenal, so it looks set to be an interesting period, as both clubs go in search of securing the best deal for the goalkeeper.
One thing's for sure, Chelsea aren't going to make it easy for Arsenal to get their man in the summer transfer window.
Fine signing for Arsenal
And, in truth, you can hardly blame them: at the end of the day, Cech, despite being 33-years of age, is still one of the standout goalkeepers in world football. There's no reason why he wouldn't be able to take his place between the sticks in north London for at least the next five years.
Despite having the duo of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny at their disposal, it's clear for all to see that Cech is an upgrade, so Wenger must do all he can to bring the shot-stopper to the club if he's serious about securing the Premier League title for the club sooner rather than later.
At the end of the day, a top-class goalkeeper has proved to be the foundation for title winners in recent time, so Cech could inspire the Gunners to great success. A commanding, world-class figure between the sticks is exactly what the club is in need of, but will Mourinho sell?
