Less than a week after completing his move to Manchester United, Dutch star Memphis Depay has caused quite a stir not just on the pitch, but off it as well.
The 21-year-old speedster caught up with Juventus superstar and former United midfielder Paul Pogba recently, taking the time out to pose for a picture with the highly rated 22-year-old Frenchman that has got fans talking.
Described as the 'complete player' who has it all by French legend Zinedine Zidane, Pogba has been in high demand ever since he moved to Turin and established himself alongside Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal.
The 6ft 2in midfielder has been linked with a move away from Juventus this summer with United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Barcelona all reported to be interested in him.
United are in desperate need of a dominant physical figure in central midfield, thus leading to their supposed interest in their former youth player. His physical mystique is impressive and the ease at which he glides across the pitch, covering every blade of grass, is a sight to behold.
Pogba has all the right tools and qualities in his game to become one of the very best in the world. He is tailor-made for the Premier League but having professed his desire to play alongside Lionel Messi, the clubs in England face an uphill task convincing him not to ply his trade on Catalonia.
Meeting between Depay and Pogba
That said, United supporters will be hoping they have a glimmer of hope of an Old Trafford return for Pogba, through new boy Depay. The rising stars of European football snap a picture together which the 21-year-old forward posted on to social media with the caption, 'Real recognize Real.'
The youngsters looked at ease and seems to have a mutual respect for each other's talent and quality. Perhaps they may have desires to play alongside each other one day but it remains to be seen if that will be at Old Trafford.
Is Louis van Gaal prepared to move mountains to sign Pogba? Does Pogba want to return to Old Trafford and play alongside Depay? The transfer market ends September 1 so only time will tell for now. Let us know what you think in the comments box below.
