The WWE have disappointed us all with yet another failure. 'Money in the Bank' was a huge let down for WWE fans the world over.
They made a bad decision with the Money in the Bank contract match and have entered at least one major superstar into a completely pointless rivalry. Roman Reigns has seemingly been pushed to one side as WWE continue to do absolutely nothing that the fans call for.
The first match of the night was the Money in the bank contract match. Most people, including me, thought it was pretty obvious what was going to happen. Roman Reigns was going to win the contract and cash it in later on in the day, but that didn't happen.
WWE have once again decided to add an unpredictable twist to the show by making Bray Wyatt interrupt. Roman Reigns was about to win, he was about to get the contract when Bray Wyatt appeared only to mount a random attack on Reigns, meaning that Reigns lost the match to none other than the Celtic Warrior Sheamus.
Both events that I have just alluded to were both terrible decisions on the part of the WWE. The fans wanted Reigns to win.
The fans want to see a face finally have the title or the opportunity get the chance to win the title. We haven't had a face holding the World Championship since Daniel Bryan gave relinquished it last year and it's about time that changes.
In regards to Sheamus, there was only one superstar in that match who wasn't going to present the opportunity for a great story line if they won the match and it was Sheamus, but he still won it.
There's nothing WWE can do to make this seem like a good decision. Just from Monday Night Raw last night we can already tell that it was a bad decision because Sheamus just isn't entertaining. He's boring, as are his story lines so WWE need to pull something out the bag soon to appease the fans and make it a bit more entertaining.
Now, we come to the main event. Rollins v Ambrose. What a match, it was great to watch but once again, WWE gave the win to Seth Rollins instead of Ambrose. This was the perfect time to do something to appease the fans and do something that the fans want to see.
'Money in the Bank' was held in Ohio, the home state of Dean Ambrose. What a great opportunity they had, but they passed it up. They had the chance to create a brilliant story, 'Ambrose wins the WWE World Heavyweight Title in front of his own people.' That's what they could have had, but instead they decided to change it up and let Rollins keep the title.
The match itself was a gigantic farce, although entertaining they dragged it on for ten minutes too long. I genuinely thought two hobbits were going to show up and throw a ring into a volcano it lasted that long.
To be honest, I thought they were stalling when Seth Rollins was under the ring throwing chairs around. I thought they were waiting for Sheamus to come down and enter himself into the match but then the match finally finished. I still thought he would come down because there was loads of time left, but it never happened and Seth Rollins is still the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World.
Cena and Owens Starring
The match that stole the night was once again, Cena v Owens. What a match. That one has gone straight into the history books as an instant classic. There was two AA's and multiple Pop Up Powerbombs before Cena finally managed to keep Owens on the ground for a three count. Cena even displayed some athleticism with a fantastic and somewhat uncharacteristic flip move into a pin. They had the crowd in raptures during the match, but WWE even managed to ruin that.
Cena decided to offer his respect to Owens aftr that match by shaking Owens' hand. Kevin Owens didn't like that so he decided to attack Cena by powerbombing Cena into the corner of the ring. Subsequently injuring Cena's back, as a result he couldn't perform on Raw last night. They should have just let them shake hands and walk away, end that rivalry there after two fantastic fights. Instead they have decided to drag it out.
So to recap, Sheamus won money in the bank, Owens is a bad loser and Rollins is still the WWE champion, until Battleground that is. The return of The Beast, Brock Lesnar will no doubt shake things up...
