Sergio Ramos wants to leave Real Madrid this summer

Sergio Ramos wants to leave Real Madrid this summer, angered by the club’s failure to deny a recent report linking him with a shock move to rivals Barcelona.

This is according to Spanish newspaper AS, who claim the link with Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Majo was the tipping point for the 29-year-old World Cup winner.

Ramos’ relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has broken down over recent weeks. The world-class centre-back has voiced his concerns over Perez’s decision to sack the popular Carlo Ancelotti, while his demands for an improved contract appear to have fallen on deaf ears.

Ramos reportedly feels undervalued at the Bernabeu and has made up his mind to leave the club after 10 successful years in Madrid.

The news has already alerted Manchester United who, according to the Guardian, are demanding Ramos in exchange for their wantaway goalkeeper David de Gea.

Ramos using Man Utd to get a better contract?

Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have also been linked with the Spain international, who has scored a magnificent 55 goals in 445 appearances for Los Blancos from central defence.

United believe they have a chance of signing Ramos, whose contract expires in July 2017, for a lower fee than his astronomical £128 million release clause.

He would be an exceptional signing for the Red Devils - despite his advancing years - but United fans will be wary of getting too excited after the recent Dani Alves saga.

The Barcelona full-back appeared certain to leave the Camp Nou following a disagreement over his contract, with Manchester United keen to take him to Old Trafford, but the Red Devils’ faithful were left disappointed as Alves performed a U-turn by signing a new contract after finally being offered the terms he craved.
