Radamel Falcao offered Chelsea supporters an indication of what they might expect from him next season after the once prolific goalscorer produced yet another hapless display, this time in the colours of Colombia.
Falcao once again was offered a start by Jose Pekerman but once again failed to deliver, and was substituted shortly after the hour mark having recorded only one shot on target in what transpired to be a stalemate with Peru.

It was the latest in a growing number of forgettable contributions from Falcao, as Manchester United supporters will attest to, and Chelsea fans must now be wondering why on earth their club is seemingly pursuing his signature.
Jose Mourinho, it would seem, is ready to acquire the 29-year-old on a season-long loan deal, despite the fact he failed so miserably at Old Trafford. On current form it looks to be an enormous waste of money - and the Chelsea faithful are voicing their concerns.

Do they have reason to question the judgement of their manager? One would think so, and there are countless heads being scratched and opinions being expressed as to Falcao’s suitability for the Premier League champions.
Not only is it his dreadful form - six goals in 32 games, if you’re counting - that makes this proposed deal something of surprise, but also that Chelsea already have Loic Remy as a capable reserve for Diego Costa. Falcao would make a rather expensive third choice.

Mourinho, is however, a particular fan of the Colombia captain and, if there is a manager capable of exacting something like his best form once more, then it is most likely the man at the Stamford Bridge helm.
Can Mourinho revive this faltering career? All at Chelsea, and plenty of neutrals too, will be hoping so as it would be such a shame to see this immense talents simply fizzle out.

Although perhaps Falcao should speak to Fernando Torres and Andriy Shevchenko before making a final decision on his next destination with Chelsea, in recent years, having become a graveyard for has-been strikers.
Can Falcao buck the trend? It is an unexpected second crack at the Premier League and we shall see if he can take it.
