The WWE currently possesses some of the finest talent that has come through the independent scene and the majority of them have found great success in the business.

The likes of Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Cesaro and Sami Zayn all made big names for themselves on the independent scene and still have the same big following they gained through their hard work.

The WWE have NXT as their developmental system where they sign some of the finest independent stars and give them a platform to not only impress the fans but eventually make it to the big time by appearing on the likes of Monday Night Raw.

RING OF HONOR INTEREST

But even with a stacked roster of some of the finest talent around – having recently added the likes of Samoa Joe and Uhaa Nation – wrestlezone.com are reporting that the WWE have their eyes on other talent also.

Ring of Honor is often seen as a promotion which creates stars before they move to the WWE, and the WWE are interested in signing three of their top stars.

The first star they are interested in signing is Moose, who fans might know as the former NFL Offensive Tackle Quinn Ojinnaka. The WWE did send Moose an offer to join the WWE as a contestant on the new season of Tough Enough hosted by Chris Jericho, but Moose turned down that offer.

This was because although he would be guaranteed a spot on the season, there would be no guarantees that he would end up winning the show and bagging himself a $250,000 contract, but if the WWE continue to pursue Moose then we could expect to see him signed to NXT without competing on Tough Enough.

ADAM COLE

The WWE are also said to be interested in Adam Cole, who is a former Ring of Honor World Champion and Ring of Honor Television Champion.

He only made his return to in-ring action in May at the ‘War of the Worlds’ event after missing several months due to a shoulder injury, and he lost to AJ Styles upon his return. He may not be the biggest of superstars but the 25 year old, who is the longest reigning Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion in history, will be a huge addition to NXT.

The third and perhaps the most surprising is current Ring of Honor World and Television Champion, Jay Lethal. He captured the Television Champion over a year ago and has held it since, and he unified the titles last week at the ‘Best in the World’ event when he defeated Jay Briscoe for the World Championship.

CONTRACT EXPIRING

It’s being reported that the reason Ring of Honor pinned the World Championship on Lethal was a way to sweeten him up as his contract with Ring of Honor is set to expire and there’s no deal on the table right now.

Who knows whether the WWE will be able to sign Lethal, he’s only 30 years old but has a wealth of experience and is responsible for training the likes of AJ Lee. Along with these three, the WWE are also in former TNA superstar, Gunner who recently departed from the company.

It looks like it’s simply speculation right now and there’s probably nothing to get overly excited about, but if the WWE does manage to sign them up then they will definitely help NXT reach newer heights.
