Arsenal are poised to submit a €40 million offer for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
This is according to German newspaper Bild, who understand that Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the Gabon international.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger appears keen to sign another top-class centre-forward - potentially as an upgrade on France international Olivier Giroud - and has reportedly identified Aubameyang as the striker to fire the Gunners closer to their first Premier League title since 2004.

The 26-year-old, who joined Dortmund from Saint-Etienne in 2013, has scored 41 goals in 95 appearances since arriving at Signal Iduna Park two years ago.
Brought in by Jurgen Klopp to replace Poland international Robert Lewandowski, Aubameyang scored a disappointed 16 goals in 48 matches in his first season with BVB, but followed that up by netting a much more impressive 25 goals in 46 games last term.

Tuchel wants Aubameyang to stay
Aubameyang has subsequently caught the eye of three of the Premier League’s top clubs, but whether he leaves the Bundesliga club will ultimately depend on his new manager, Thomas Tuchel.
It’s understood that Tuchel regards Aubameyang - who is contracted to his current employers until 2018 - as a central part of his plans for the 2015-16 campaign, with no real top-level alternative in his squad as things stand.
Dortmund are desperate to hold onto their best players following a turbulent season, which resulted in the exit of the talismanic Klopp, and that includes Aubameyang - the man who has established himself as the team’s focal point in attack over the past 12 months.
Mixed feelings from Arsenal fans
Arsenal fans have reacted to the news with mixed feelings: some feel Aubameyang would be an upgrade on Giroud, while others believe Wenger is not aiming high enough.
Certainly, Aubameyang lacks the world-class reputation of a player like Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema or Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain - both of whom have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Many Arsenal fans would also like to see Wenger make a move for the Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, the 24-year-old France international who scored 31 goals last season.
Giroud found the back of the net 19 times for the Gunners last term, but suffered an injury-hit campaign.
Perhaps a level short of being a real top-class centre-forward, Giroud could find himself on the substitutes bench come the start of next season if Wenger gets his way.
