Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and now Sergio Ramos. If you’re a United fan you’ll be forgiven for feeling hard done by if Louis van Gaal doesn’t complete the purchase of a Real Madrid star this summer.

Well, the latest reports indicate that he’s been taking English lessons to prepare himself for life at Old Trafford, but that could be part of some elaborate bluff designed to earn him a new contract offer from Real.
We’re not sure which way we’re leaning at this stage, but you’ll likely have an inkling one way or the other depending on if you think Van Gaal could yet land either Mats Hummels or Nicolas Otamendi.
Both men are other defensive targets who are arguably more suited, but if you’re from the school of No Smoke Without Fire then you might assume otherwise.
Lindegaard's shock opportunity?
In other news third-choice goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard could be offered a shock new deal if David de Gea leaves. News in Denmark suggess the 31-year-old might yet have a future at Old Trafford, irrespective of reports claiming he’s on his way out.
Currently behind De Gea and Victor Valdes in the pecking order, Lindegaard didn’t feature at all for Van Gaal last season and has only played three times for the first-team in the past two years. Would he be willing to serve as Valdes’ understudy if De Gea joined Real?
Last but least incredible reports detail how Van Gaal could spend as much as £150million on four men this summer, if he gets his way in the transfer market. Messrs Jasper Cillessen, Sergio Ramos, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Harry Kane are on his radar.
That’s speculative to say the least.
