Chelsea are about to realise that their pursuit of Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic will not be as simple as they envisaged, according to The Telegraph.
Petr Cech is on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge for a new life across London at Arsenal and Begovic has long been considered the best option to replace him.
Stoke City are aware of Chelsea's interest and expect to receive an £8 million bid soon after Cech's transfer is confirmed. However, they are ready to knock that bid back where is came from.
That is because they want Blues outcast Victor Moses included in the deal and they are ready to push Chelsea all the way to get their wish.
Moses is not in Jose Mourinho's plans for next season and has not featured for the club since the Special One returned in 2013.
Moses ready to leave?
He spent a disappointing season on loan to Liverpool in the 2013-14 campaign but enjoyed a more fruitful spell at the Britannia Stadium last season. The winger made 23 appearances and scored four goals before a hamstring injury cut his time in Staffordshire short.
Mark Hughes is now looking to take the 24-time Nigeria international on a permanent basis and is hopeful of getting him as part of any deal for Begovic.
The Potters don't have too much wiggle room as the commanding goalkeeper has just 12 months left on his contract and has already made it clear that he wants to play European football.
However, Stoke may not be able to negotiate with Chelsea at all if their contract rebelling goalkeeper doesn't play ball himself.
Begovic won't be doing too much footballing if he decides to move to Chelsea as he is likely to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois. The Belgium international dislodged Cech upon his arrival last summer and is set to retain that place.
Chelsea will have to do their best to convince Begovic that he will be given adequate game-time and may guarantee him both League Cup and FA Cup priority. That may not be enough to convince the Bosnia and Herzegovina international.
Would Asmir Begovic stall his career by moving to Chelsea?
