With the Battleground pay-per-view approaching all eyes are on Seth Rollins as he attempts to keep hold of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship when he takes on Brock Lesnar.

It’s definitely an interesting time in the WWE. With Lesnar’s return, Sheamus holding the Money in the Bank briefcase and Kevin Owens’ main roster push means a number of championships could be changing hands in the coming months.

There are some titles that look like they won’t be changing hands any time soon. We’ve only just crowned Ryback as the Intercontinental Champion so the likelihood is he will hold on to his title and go on to defeat The Miz and The Big Show at Battleground.

The same applies to The Prime Time Players who have been crowned the WWE Tag Team Champions. Sasha Banks doesn’t look like her reign as NXT’s number one diva will end any time soon whilst Nikki Bella has also managed to overcome the odds numerous times so it doesn’t look like her reign will end any time soon either with more records on the horizon.

BROCK LESNAR – WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION

This is the obvious one. Brock Lesnar returned to Monday Night Raw last week and it was made official that Lesnar would challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Battleground.

Lesnar returning wouldn’t be just to go over to Rollins so he can look strong, now that Lesnar has dominated since ending The Undertaker’s streak and didn’t get pinned at WrestleMania 31 either so he isn’t someone you can overlook at Battleground or even at SummerSlam.

There were plans in the WWE for the Money in the Bank winner to cash in on a strong face, and right now Lesnar is the strong face trying to take the title from the biggest heel in the company so perhaps we should be ready for Rollins’ reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion to come to an end and The Beast Incarnate reclaiming his championship once more.

SHEAMUS – WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION

This is a matter of when, not it. The WWE have been planning on Sheamus capturing the Money in the Bank briefcase for quite a while now, dating back to 2013 so there is no way the WWE are having Sheamus cash in unsuccessfully.

The plan should see Sheamus cash in on a face, meaning there is no way he will cash in on Seth Rollins in a singles match and that leads you to assume that Brock Lesnar will be the one who is cashed in on once again, and that could take place as early as Battleground.

It would be interesting to see how that plays out, if that’s the direction the WWE are heading in.

FINN BÁLOR – NXT CHAMPION

July 4th will be a very interesting day and a lot of fans will be tuning into the WWE Network as the Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan plays host to a WWE super show. One of the matches taking place on the night which is gaining a lot of interest is the NXT Championship match between the champion Kevin Owens and the number one contender, Finn Bálor.

Bálor has pinned Kevin Owens clean on NXT which suggests Bálor is gaining momentum and the upper hand in the build-up to the super show and the likelihood is Bálor will become the NXT Champion. This is because Owens is now a main roster superstar and will no longer be on NXT even when Sami Zayn returns.

Bálor made a huge name for himself in Japan as Prince Devitt and it would be a great occasion for him to become NXT Champion in Japan, expect Owens to drop the belt but don’t expect him to remain without one for too long…

KEVIN OWENS – WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPION

Kevin Owens has made it clear that he’s gunning for John Cena’s United States Championship and we could see the two battle it out for the title at Battleground or even at SummerSlam.

The two have faced off twice and it’s currently one a piece so it’s only fitting that their third and final encounter is for the United States Championship and we should see a new champion being crowned.

The reason Cena won at Money in the Bank came down to merchandise sales declining for Cena so the WWE will look to have Cena drop the United States title to Owens so he can go on a good run with it whilst Cena himself could enter the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture.

ENZO AMORE AND COLIN CASSADY – NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS

They had their shot at NXT TakeOver: Rival but Blake & Murphy managed to keep hold of their titles, but Enzo and Big Cass are a team who are always going to be in with a shot of winning the championships because of how over they are with the fans.

The other big team trying to dethrone the champions are The Vaudevillians, but I feel like ultimately it will come down to the WWE’s most charismatic duo to defeat the champions and finally have a decent run with the NXT Tag Team Championships.
