Manchester United defender Luke Shaw favourited a tweet claiming Premier League duo Arsenal and Tottenham were out of the race to secure the signature of French international Morgan Schneiderlin.
As reported by the Independent, Shaw, who previously starred alongside Schneiderlin at Southampton, clearly would be interested in being reunited with the dynamic midfielder at Old Trafford.
Schneiderlin, of course, has been heavily linked with a move to one of the Premier League big-boys, with United, Arsenal and Tottenham all having been credited with interest in the player in recent time.
It appears, though, according to recent reports, that Manchester United are now out in front to land the Southampton man, with the same report from the Independent claiming that the Red Devils will land the 25-year-old for as much as £25 million in the upcoming transfer window.
Louis van Gaal and Co. at United are seemingly intent on improving the side, as they go about sustaining a Premier League title challenge next term, and it now appears that Schneiderlin could be the next international star to arrive at the club.
United, of course, have already landed Dutch wide-man Memphis Depay before the opening of the transfer window, so they're certainly not handing around.
One thing's for sure, Shaw will certainly be pleased if he's reunited with Schneiderlin this summer after he favourited the following tweet...
Brilliant for United...and Shaw
There's no doubt about it, the potential signing of Schneiderlin for Manchester United will prove a marvellous coup, as the club go about landing the Premier League title in the immediate future.
At the end of the day, the Frenchman has enjoyed a fine stint in England's elite division, and has most certainly been one of the most consistent midfielders in the country over the last two years. At United, then, Schneiderlin will no doubt provide a balance to the club's ranks, so it's a deal Van Gaal and Co. must complete sooner rather than later.
And it may well help Shaw's progress at the club, too. Ultimately, the defender endured a tricky debut campaign in Manchester last time out, so a familiar face will only help him settle further ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.
