Neymar shows off new tattoo of sister

Barcelona star Neymar has raised a few eyebrows on Twitter after getting a tattoo on his right arm of his younger sister Rafaella Beckran.

The Brazil international, who is currently spending time with his family after being suspended for the remainder of the Copa America following his red card against Colombia last week, showed off the detailed portrait of his 19-year-old sibling on Instagram.

To many this was nothing more than a sweet gesture from a big brother showing love for his younger sister - but others found it a little bit odd.

Neymar’s fellow Brazil international, Oscar, received a similar reaction back in December when he published a photo to Instagram of himself being kissed on either cheek by his wife and his sister, Gabriele.

Unfortunately, the Chelsea playmaker also had his hands on each of their backsides when the photo was taken, which subsequently sent Twitter into meltdown.

Below is a selection from those who were a little creeped out by Neymar’s new tattoo.

“LRT seem creepy coming from Neymar ! Sister tattoo on your arm?! really?! Weird bloke!”

“Neymar got a tattoo of a portrait of his sister... That's a little weird”

“Neymar got a freakin tattoo of his sister's FACE ON HIS ARM WTFFFF what kind of sibling relationship is that? Cuz I'm clueless”

Although this tweet was easily the funniest.

“Neymar has a tattoo of his sister and my brother won't even accept my friend request on facebook.”

Neymar banned

In fairness to the tattoo artist, they’ve done an excellent job with Neymar’s new ink. It must have taken a fair bit of time to complete - although Neymar has a lot of free time on his hands following this unfortunate Copa America suspension.

The 23-year-old was handed the four-match ban following a brawl with Jeison Murillo and Carlos Bacca. He also kicked the ball at Pablo Armero and was accused by referee Enrique Osses of calling him a “son of a b****” in the tunnel after the final whistle.

It's still been an excellent 2015

It’s fair to say Neymar’s Copa America did not turn out in the way he would have hoped, although it’s still been an excellent 2015 for the world-class attacking winger who scored 39 goals in 51 appearances for Barcelona last season.

He also, of course, played a key role in helping Barcelona win the treble at the end of last season - capping off the best season of his career with a goal in the Champions League final against Juventus earlier this month.
