Surprising reports in Spain claim that Liverpool have made an offer to Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez.
As reported by AS.com, it has been suggested that the Merseyside outfit are ready to bring the Mexican ace to Anfield in the upcoming transfer window, with the same report claiming that the Italian duo of Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested in the player's signature.
Hernandez, of course, spent last season on loan at Spanish giants Real Madrid after falling out of favour under Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal, however he failed to hold down a regular place under Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu, meaning he looks set to head back to Old Trafford after the Gold Cup.

Real Madrid, under new boss Rafa Benitez, continue to be linked with the forward, with the same report from AS claiming that Van Gaal doesn't want Hernandez despite the striker having a contract with the club until 2016.
It appears, then, that with the player's long-term future in the game in doubt, he could yet make a shock move to Merseyside.

Unsurprisingly, though, the same report goes on to reveal that Manchester United may not want to sell to a rival, but it remains to be seen as to whether the Liverpool hierarchy press ahead with a move.
Liverpool, of course, have been extremely busy in this transfer window, as Brendan Rodgers goes about improving his side, but it would certainly surprise everyone if they swooped for the Manchester United outcast.
There's no way United will sell
Let's be honest, even if these links are true, there's no way United will sell to Liverpool in the upcoming transfer window.
Ok, so Hernandez is seemingly surplus to requirements in Manchester, but he is the type of player who could comeback to haunt them. He may not be the world class centre forward Van Gaal wants to lead his line, but he's certainly capable of finding the back of the net in England's elite division.
Of course, Van Gaal and Co. allowed Danny Welbeck to depart the club for rivals Arsenal last summer, but the situation changes when it's Liverpool in the mix. Ultimately, from a Liverpool perspective, the signing of Hernandez wouldn't actually be a bad one, but pursuing him would surely be a waste of time.
It would certainly be a surprise if anything more came of this over the coming weeks in an extremely busy period for all those involved at Old Trafford and Anfield.
