WrestleMania doesn't call itself the Grandest Stage of Them All for nothing.
The WWE's flagship event draws in millions of fans every year because they know the company pulls out all the stops come 'Mania time.
WrestleMania let down
So to hear one WWE legend rule himself out completely of the big night when WrestleMania 32 rolls around in 2016 will leave many WWE fans disheartened.
Shawn Michaels, speaking at a publicity event in the United Kingdom, told the crowd that he had turned down an opportunity to be involved at the hugely anticipated AT&T Stadium show.
As reported by NoDQ.com, Michaels explained that he was offered "a major role at WrestleMania 32" but rejected the WWE's advances "because he simply feels like there is nothing left for him to do."
The WWE has big plans for the 2016 Texas event with Vince McMahon looking to recruit as many big names from the WWE's past as possible in order to maximize interest and ticket sales (as well as put on a good show, of course).
It looks like they will have to continue their recruitment drive having failed to bag one of the most popular wrestlers of his generation, though, with HBK clearly having very little interest in rekindling his career for one night.
Still got it?
The Hall of Famer will be 50-years-old by the time 'Mania 32 rolls around but there is no doubt he could still put on a show if his heart was in it.
His brief appearance alongside fellow members of DX at WrestleMania 31 shows just how popular the veteran stars remain with the WWE Universe and fans will not be left wondering just what this "major role" would have looked like.
Despite Michael's decision to sit out WrestleMania 32 there has been more positive news in recent weeks concerning a couple of other legendary figures.
Stone Cold Steve Austin for instance is seen as a near definate participant due to his affiliation with Texas as well as his recently improved working relationship with WWE. Meanwhile, Hulk Hogan went on record last month to say that he and Vince McMahon had shaken hands on potentially bringing back Hulkamania on the big night.
