Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is excited at the prospect of joining La Liga and European Champions FC Barcelona, according to presidential candidate Joan Laporta.
The French midfielder is expected to leave Turin in the near-future, with the main feeling that it could be this summer after the club failed to lift the Champions League trophy in Berlin.
However, according to a Barca figure, Pogba is excited about the opportunity to join the Catalan club, meaning he could delay his transfer away for yet another season.
Barcelona will not be making any signings this summer because of a transfer embargo, which was put upon them after they fielded ineligible youth players, but with Pogba wanting to join the Nou Camp, he may decide to stay at Juve for one more year.
Interest in Pogba
This news will come as a massive blow to several European clubs as they all want to try and sign the 22-year-old this summer.
Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all been linked with signing the midfielder in recent months, but it now looks like Barca are in pole position.
Speaking about the midfielder's future, Barcelona presidential election candidate Joan Laporta, admitted that the Frenchman is excited about the idea of playing for the La Liga champions and feels a deal could be agreed when the club are allowed to do business again.
Laporta continued by claiming he has a strong relationship with Pogba's agent, and believes if the club can get the deal over the line, it would be one of the best signings in the club's rich history.
Laporta Confident of Deal
"Pogba is very excited to come to Barcelona," Laporta told Catalunya Radio. "I have a very good relationship with Mino Raiola. It would be one of the best signings. Everyone believes that he would fit into this team."
These comments will be a massive blow to the clubs interested in Pogba, especially the Premier League teams who had highlighted him as a main target this year.
Premier League Blow
Manchester City were desperate to bring him to the Etihad Stadium as a long-term replacement for Yaya Toure, whilst Chelsea were ready to send Oscar in the opposite direction in order to sweeten the deal with The Old Lady.
However, it looks like Pogba's mind has been made up, and it looks like his future is in Spain with the European champions.
