Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw has drop a huge hint on who will soon be joining him at Old Trafford by recently favouriting a tweet which said: "Tottenham and Arsenal no longer want Morgan Schneiderlin. #mufc [telegraaf]". Shaw, however, soon unfavourited the tweet but it was too late and now fans and media are all over it.
Shaw, who was a team-mate of Morgan Schneiderlin at Southampton, has been quite active on Twitter and has previously played along when he was about to be transferred to Manchester United. The 19-year-old messed around by mentioning that he was at Manchester United and soon deleting it.
Schneiderlin has been previously linked to Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United but the player wishes to join a club with Champions League football. Spurs, who are not in the competition, seem to be out of the race with Arsenal and Manchester United still in the race. The French international was recently talking to France Bleu Alsace radio station when he admitted that he expects his future to be resolved in the coming days, even before the pre season starts in July.
He said: ""The negotiations are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days, hopefully before the resumption of [pre-season] training next week."
The player had earlier hinted of his desire to move by tweeting: "Somewhere on Planet Earth ... Thinking about what the future holds ...."
Louis van Gaal desperately needs a holding midfielder to add to his squad; someone who could play regularly in the starting XI which Michael Carrick might not, given his age and regular injuries.
Schneiderlin definitely fits in but Van Gaal wishes to move first for another French star Paul Pogba and German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. Reports suggest Van Gaal will move for Schneiderlin if he fails to land the other targets.
