Marcos Rojo regards Angel di Maria as “the most talented player” at Manchester United, despite his teammate's struggles during his first season at Old Trafford.

The Argentina star was signed for a Premier League record £59.7 million from Real Madrid last summer and impressed in his early stages in a United shirt.

His wonderful chip in the 5-3 defeat away at Leicester City back in October was the stand-out moment for the winger in the opening moments of the season.

However, since then he struggled for form and spent the final weeks of the season on the bench and out of Louis Van Gaal’s plans.

His last goal for the club came against Yeovil in the FA Cup Third Round back in January.

But Rojo, who is likely to start alongside Di Maria for Argentina in the Copa America semi-final against Paraguay, believes his class will eventually shine through at United.

"For me, the player with the most talent at Manchester United is Angel,” Rojo told Goal. “There are great players at the club, but Angel for me is one of the best in the world."

“It has been a difficult year for him” Rojo admits. “He had some problems adapting, but that’s normal. Any player coming to a new country and a new league has to adapt to the differences and that’s what happens. But I’m sure he will do really well in the months ahead.”

Rumours of him leaving Old Trafford were quickly dismissed despite Bayern showing interest in the player.
