Saidy Janko could leave Manchester United within the next 48 hours to become Celtic’s second signing of the summer, according to reports.
The Daily Record today claims that the Swiss teenager travelled back to Scotland - where he’d previously held talks over a potential transfer - last night, and a deal looks set to be wrapped up imminently.
The 19-year-old has never featured for United’s first-team but did do enough to impress whilst on loan at Bolton last season, having moved to Old Trafford two years ago from FC Zurich in 2013.

If he does move to Celtic Park then he’ll become Ronny Deila’s second notable signing of the summer, following in the footsteps of former Manchester City man Dedryck Boyata. The defender sealed his move to the SPL only last month, having failed to make the grade at the Etihad.
Though the likes of Janko and Boyata weren’t able to establish themselves in the Premier League they’ll no doubt be astute additions to a side that has won four back to back domestic titles.

Following the plight suffered by long-term rivals Rangers the Hoops have dominated Scottish football almost to the point of having no competition, and in Deila they look to have a manager who is set to continue the trend.
The Norwegian manager joined Celtic in 2014 and saw his side comfortably cruise to the SPL title last season, and by all accounts the purchases he will make this summer will offer rivals little reprieve.
One target of note who will be watched with a keen eye if he arrives in Scotland is Deila’s compatriot Martin Odegaard, sure to be keen to improve following his first few months at Real Madrid.
The 16-year-old has a huge reputation already despite his young age and perhaps spending some time under Deila’s wing - he already worked with him at Stromsgodset - will do his development some good.
United transfer news
Meanwhile Manchester United’s transfer fortunes look likely to be equally positive, with Louis van Gaal almost certain to build on the capture of Memphis Depay in the next few weeks.
The Dutchman has a handsome budget to work with and Champions League football on his side, though there is some work to be done.
United fans, who do you think Van Gaal should buy? Celtic fans, will Janko be a good buy? Let us know in the comments box below.
