Roberto Martinez is looking to sign Sam Byram if Seamus Coleman leaves for Manchester United this summer, reports the Daily Mail.
Byram has over 100 appearances for Leeds United since he was promoted to the firs- team in the 2012-13 season at the tender age of just 18 and has continued to impress throughout the turmoil at Leeds United over these past few years. He has been touted by Manchester City in the past, but lately Sunderland and Newcastle have been pressing Leeds to let their starlet leave this summer.
Everton have struggled immensely all over the park compared to their last season as they finished in 11th place compared to nearly breaking the top four and gaining qualification to Champions League. Everton have struggled at the back due to the loss of their centre-half pairing of Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin who have rarely started together compared to the season before where they were a formidable centre half pairing.

With the likes of Stones and Coleman looking to be leave Merseyside, then a signing such as Byram is essential but there will be question marks over Byram as he does not posses the experience of playing in the Premier League and many wonder if he has the capability to improve the Everton side immediately.
However, Everton are known for nurturing young talent and giving them a chance in the first team to develop. Byram is similar to Coleman, in the fact that he likes to get forward and help in the attack but there is still the defensive fragility surrounding Everton that needs to be addressed first.
The deal only looks likely to go through if Manchester United move for Coleman so this is all speculation thus far, but the Red Devils seem incredibly keen on making the Coleman deal happen sooner rather than later.
