Chelsea have told Atletico Madrid they will have to pay £14.25m to sign Filipe Luis this summer, reports The Sun.
Jose Mourinho spent almost £17m on the Brazil international last summer but has since found Cesar Azpilicueta to be a much more attractive option at left-back.
The Spaniard kept Luis out of the squad for much of last season, restricting him to just nine starts in the Premier League.

Luis' lack of first-team football and a failure to adjust to life in England has seen him grow discontented with life at Stamford Bridge.
He is now angling for a move back to the Vicente Calderon, but Chelsea want Atletico to pay every penny back from the original deal.

The reason Chelsea will end up receiving £3m less than they paid is the tumbling Euro.Pound exchange rate. Atletico would still be paying the €20m they received for the deal last summer.
Any potential move for Luis seems to have been delayed by tentative discussion of a potential swap deal involving either Antoine Griezmann or Arda Turan.
Griezmann was rumoured to be a target for Mourinho earlier this season but his £42.5m release clause and the imminent arrival of Radamel Falcao seems to have dampened speculation.
Turan was actually offered to Chelsea as well as Manchester United but it seems Barcelona are currently leading the race to sign him.
Anyway, the report in The Sun claims that Chelsea were never interested in a swap deal and want straight cash instead.
Mourinho has been lauded for his transfer business since returning to Chelsea in 2013, but Luis will certainly go down as a bust in anyone's book.
While the Blues may be seeking over £14m for the 29-year-old, it is highly unlikely Atletico will agree to pay such a figure. Diego Simeone knows he is not wanted at Stamford Bridge and will find it easy to push the price down.
Anything over £10m will be considered a successful deal for Mourinho, who must accept that another one of his transfer, like Mohamed Salah and Juan Cuadrado, has not worked out.
Is Filipe Luis the worst signing Jose Mourinho has made since 2013?
