United, of course, lost the services of Radamel Falcao, who subsequently completed a move to Premier League champions Chelsea earlier today. Robin van Persie, meanwhile, endured a tricky campaign under the guidance of Louis van Gaal after failing to maintain his form and fitness.

Wayne Rooney was moved from position to position, while youngster James Wilson was used sparingly throughout the course of the season, so it's not entirely surprising that Van Gaal's looking to add to his options in attack.
The Red Devils chief has, of course, already acquired the services of Dutch international Memphis Depay, who will no doubt feature on a regular basis next season.
It's expected that the youngster will star out-wide, but he may well be utilised in the centre of the pitch when called upon.
But which forward should the Red Devils target?
Well, let's be honest, they can hardly go wrong if they sign any of the four stars mentioned above. Cavani, at 28-years of age, may well be a slight gamble after his indifferent period at French giants Paris Saint-Germain, but he's certainly offer the club something different in attack.
Harry Kane may well have only had one fine season in England's elite division, but he is one of the most exciting young players in the country, so he'd make an ideal signing for the club, especially with long term success in mind. Surely, though, Spurs will try and keep their talisman for at least another season.
Then there's the Real Madrid duo of Benzema and Bale, who would both improve the Red Devils, but once again it may well prove difficult for United officials to sign either of the players in this transfer window.
One thing's for sure, it looks set to be an extremely exciting period for all involved with Manchester United, with the club seemingly determined to return to the top sooner rather than later.
