Samir Nasri has taken to Twitter to deny a story published earlier this week which sensationally claimed the Manchester City midfielder had asked Arsene Wenger if he could return to Arsenal this summer.
The original story was published by Football Insider, who “exclusively” revealed that Nasri was knocked back by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
Wenger, they claimed, told Nasri there was no place for him at the Emirates Stadium with his senior squad already well stocked with attacking midfielders.

This story came as a big surprise to Nasri, who told his 2.58 million Twitter followers on Saturday afternoon not to believe such a “silly story”.
“Never asked anyone to comeback!!” he wrote. “Really happy where i am right now so stop with your silly story”.
Nasri wants to stay at Man City
Nasri’s tweet delighted the Manchester City supporters, while Arsenal fans - never ones to miss an opportunity to take a dig at the France international - told him he wasn’t wanted by in north London anyway.
Nasri, who is contracted to Manchester City until 2019 after signing a new five-year deal 12 months ago, recently told Sky Sports that he has no plans to quit the Etihad Stadium despite the uncertainly surrounding his future.
"I still have four years left on my contract so what I want now is to be focused on my rehab,” the 28-year-old confirmed. "I'm going to work a lot in pre-season to come back as fit as possible with a new state of mind - then have a great season and win trophies.
"The happy ending of winning a trophy at the end of the season is the best feeling you can have. It feels great and that's what I want."
Nasri’s relationship with the Arsenal supporters was left in tatters following his shock decision to leave the Gunners for City in 2011 - and so the chances of him ever returning to his former employers are virtually nil.
