Galatasary have officially completed the signing of Germany international Lukas Podolski from Arsenal.

The 30-year-old found himself consistently out of the starting eleven at Arsenal and made a loan switch to Inter Milan in January. However, he has since made it clear that he considers that move a mistake.

Arsene Wenger was said to be keen to keep the German at the club but refused to guarantee him a place in the starting line-up, meaning that Podolski was forced to consider other options.

Now, after weeks of speculation about a possible move to Istanbul, the forward has finally signed for Galatasary for a reported €4million. The club confirmed the move via their Twitter.

Push for starting place

After being told he needed to secure regular football at club level if he was to stand a chance of featuring for Germany at Euro 2016, Podolski has finally made a move to a club where he will be offered plenty of playing time.

Podolski's positive nature will be sorely missed by Arsenal fans, but the move might do him well in preparation for the Euros.
