Victor Valdes has rejected the chance to leave Manchester United and join Valencia according to reports in Spain.
The Spaniard international penned an 18-month contract during the January transfer window having trained with the club during his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury following his departure from Barcelona.
The 33-year-old made just two appearances for Manchester United at the end of the season after number one David de Gea picked up an injury, and he is in line for more regular action next term if his compatriot joins Real Madrid as expected.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Valdes has rejected the offer of a return to Spain with Valencia as he looks to secure a place in the Manchester United first team.
Valencia finished fourth in La Liga next season and will feature in the Champions League, however that was not enough of a lure for the former Barcelona man although he was flattered by the offer.

Despite Valdes' intention to stay put he is in danger of still being used as a back-up next season. A host of reports have linked boss Louis van Gaal with a swoop for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris - although the Frenchman penned a new contract at White Hart Lane last year and will be difficult to lure away.
Before the battle for the Manchester United number one jersey however, the future of De Gea has to be resolved.
The former Atletico Madrid ace has been named the Red Devils' best player for the past two seasons, however he is now seeking an exit from Old Trafford.
De Gea is said to have turned down the offer of a contract extension worth £200,000-per-week, and although he is back in pre-season training he is expected to leave before the summer window shuts. The 24-year-old's future hinges on whether his employers can sort out a deal for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.
The former Sevilla man is believed to have told Real Madrid that he wants to leave the club, however Manchester United have had one offer of £28 million turned down - and Madrid are holding out for a fee of around €65 million.
As it stands negotiations are at a standstill with either side willing to budge - Manchester United want an offer for De Gea to either break the record for a goalkeeper or include Ramos, which is unlikely to happen for the time being.
