I grew up in the small town of Tracy, California. I grew up as a hardcore fan of the Oakland Raiders.
Their "Commitment to Excellence" is a term I incorporated into my personal and work life. After their crushing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Super Bowl XXXVII, it seems as though they have lost that commitment.
Whether it's been terrible signings, terrible upper management, or let's face it, terrible play; whatever the case may be, it's been a terrible 12 seasons for the team.

You always hear fans say "Well, there's always next year", and I know fans of several teams who agree with that. However, there comes a time where enough is enough.
What is it that Oakland can do to bring back that winning personality, that commitment that they are so proud of?
My outlook isn't all grim though. This season ahead appears to be promising, with their B+ signings in both free agency and the draft.
The defense can be a force to be reckoned with, especially after the Jack Del Rio and Ken Norton Jr. hires.
The offense steadily improved with the draft of Amari Cooper, and the signing of Michael Crabtree. I'm not entirely convinced with Trent Richardson yet, but I hope he can prove why he was the number 3 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
I know a lot of Raiders fans that keep mentioning a championship run. As nice as that would be, I'm more concerned with them getting into the playoffs first.
And if they don't get in this coming season, well....there's always next year.
