Ronald Koeman has finally addressed the ongoing Morgan Schneiderlin situation, whilst also revealing his attempts to bring Toby Alderweireld to Southampton on a permanent basis.
With regards to Schneiderlin, Koeman admitted that he understands Schneiderlin's desire to leave the club, however he is trying everything he can to convince the player to stay, while also confirming that they have recently received a bid from Manchester United for the French midfielder.
Bid rejected but deal on?
This bid was rejected however, and speculation continues to run amok about the holding midfielder's future.

Surely it is only a matter of time before Schneiderlin makes his move, and presumably this move will be to United, as he is exactly the type of player that the Red Devils need.
It's safe to assume that Southampton will be holding out for a large fee, as they will want to be able to replace their French superstar with a player of equal talent.
"Two weeks ago we had a bid from United [for Schneiderlin] but it was not the bid we expected," Koeman said.
"It wasn't serious and no bids today.
"If there is any business then I hope it will be soon because it is best for the player, best for us and we have to think about ourselves if we sell the player.
"He will travel tomorrow with the team. It may be difficult as everybody knows he'd like to move. But if there is no bid close to what we expect then he's a Southampton player."
Alderweireld to Spurs
As for Toby Alderweireld, the player was today announced as a Tottenham Hotspur player. The Belgian international was a massive hit with the Saints fans last season, and both fans and the hierarchy alike wanted to lure the player to the club on a permanent deal.
