The WWE Universe witness the return of The Bulgarian Brute on Raw this week and Rusev demolished Dolph Ziggler in a provoked attack.
He and Summer Rae took apart the team of Ziggler and Lana to the extent that The Showoff had to be stretchered out of the Allstate Arena in Chicago. This is all said to be a part of a storyline and that Dolph is not seriously injured at all.

""Further evaluation by medical staff revealed that Ziggler is suffering from a severely bruised trachea. He was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being monitored overnight to make sure his windpipe didn't close. He is having issues talking and swallowing and will be out indefinitely."
This could be WWE's way of writing Ziggler off TV until he has signed the outstanding contract that WWE offered him a while ago and he is thought to still be negotiating.
It was said that Dolph told WWE that he wanted a push or he wouldn't re-sign. The former World Champion is also a successful stand up comedian outside the WWE and wouldn't find it hard to support himself if he didn't resign, even though it is suspected that he will sign the contract he is just playing hardball with WWE.
This does however leave Rusev without an opponent for Battleground next weekend and means that he wont have a chance to capitalise on the momentum he created this week.
Dolph had also just been aligned with Lana and the two looked like they were set for a lengthy rivalry with Rusev and Summer Rae so it would be expected that Dolph will return to TV soon.
The former Intercontinental Champion also plays a small part in this season of Total Divas which returned to the E! Network last night, he creates some tension between Nikki Bella and John Cena when he goes back after the Divas Champion that he used to date.
It seems everything is pointing to the fact that once Dolph signs his contract he will be put back on WWE TV, but for now the company have found a way to write him off the shows for an indefinite period of time which allows him time off to make a definite decision on his future.
Rusev will now be wearing protective boots from now on in the ring after the ankle injury he suffered a few months ago from wrestling bare foot.
