Angel Di Maria has verbally agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain because he is unhappy in England with Manchester United, say the latest controversial reports from the continent.
French newspaper Le Parisien is today carrying the flag for the most incredible rumour of the day, suggesting that the Argentina international will make a transfer to the Parc des Princes for around €60million by the end of the summer.
Whilst the idea of PSG having affinity towards Di Maria is nothing new it’s hard to believe that he would move himself on to pastures new after just 12 months in England, particularly as he has yet to properly justify his £59.7m transfer there.

Yet, as already stated, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are fierce admirers of Di Maria and tried to sign him last summer only to be scuppered by the pesky Financial Fair Play rules - they’ve since been relaxed.
On that occasion PSG had already spent their allotted £50m on David Luiz, and so United were able to beat them to the punch.

Nasser an admirer
Despite that though Le Parisien claims that uber-rich PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi has been in constant contact with Di Maria throughout the course of the past year, inferring that he wasn’t willing to give up on the idea of taking the former Real Madrid star to France before too long.
If that’s the case then he must have been rubbing his hands when Di Maria failed to impress in England during his maiden campaign there, even more so when transfer rumours began to speculate over a potential Old Trafford exit.
The report in question states that no official documents have been penned yet but Di Maria is willing to take PSG up on their offer, despite the fact that Van Gaal probably wants to accrue world-class players this summer, not let them leave.
If - and it’s a big if - Di Maria were to take his leave of Old Trafford this year to the tune of €60m it would give Van Gaal plenty more funds to play with as he looks to build a side with European conquest in mind, but the obvious worry would be that he would be losing an individual with vast experience in the Champions League.
Di Maria won the competition with Real back in 2014 - he was named man of the match in the final - and although the likes of Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian are talented, raw talent alone might not be enough for Van Gaal to achieve his ambitions.
