The president of Besiktas is due in London to hold transfer talks with Chelsea over a deal for striker Loic Remy.
The French international only joined the Blues last summer and made just six Premier League starts all season. He did manage seven goals in the league including crucial strikes against Hull and Stoke towards the end of the campaign as Chelsea cantered to the title.
The arrival of Radamel Falcao at Stamford Bridge on loan has further pushed the former QPR ace down the pecking order and according to reports he is seeking a move.
Eurosport say that Besiktas president Rebecca Wood is in London to discuss a potential transfer and is confident of getting a deal done.
Chelsea are unlikely to sign a replacement and could use Patrick Bamford as a third striker instead. The youngster impressed while on loan with Middlesbrough last season. He managed 19 goals in the Championship and Boro boss Aitor Karanka has confirmed he'll be with the Blues next season.
Lampard backs Cech to boost Arsenal title challenge
Chelsea hero Frank Lampard believes that Petr Cech’s switch to Arsenal could come back to haunt Jose Mourinho and help the Gunners challenge for the title next season.
Last time round Arsene Wenger steered his side to a third place finish in the Premier League, but they were never really title hopefuls due to how well Chelsea had conducted themselves. It was a similar story the year before, with Manchester City romping to the title and Arsenal securing Champions League qualification once more.
Now Lampard, who played with Cech at Chelsea during his eight year spell with the Blues and has secured a switch to New York City FC, believes the experienced shotstopper could be the man to help Arsenal make the leap.
“Cech is a world-class keeper and person and can help push Arsenal into the running next season," he said.
“Arsenal weren’t a million miles away over the last few seasons. Manchester City and Chelsea will be challenging for the title once again. They remain favourites but Petr will make a difference.”
