In the last few months, we have witnessed the return to prominence of Sheamus, after having a considerable amount of time out for surgery.
When he left, Sheamus was pretty set as a face with the WWE fans, however the creative team decided to change this upon his return.
Having Sheamus as a heel isn't something that I am against, I think he makes a brilliant heel. My issue with this is his character and look.

When Sheamus first arrived in WWE he didn't waste any time, almost immediately winning the WWE championship.
Sheamus was a heel during this time, and a very convincing one at that. This was a role Sheamus played well, he was the brawler that would beat up anyone who got in his way.
Over the last few years, Sheamus has begun to flip flop between being heel and being face. This is something that is becoming more and more common with the WWE, with less and less superstars having one character for most of their careers.
Sheamus has hit it off well with the fans as a face, getting a big pop whenever he comes to the ring. He used to get the same level reaction as a heel, when he came to the ring he would be followed by a deafening chorus of boo's now it's more of a "Ugh him again?"
Sheamus came back after being out since before Survivor Series last year where he was set to be on Team Cena, in the match against The Authority.
However, he was attacked the week before the match, which was when he was written out of story lines through injury. When he returned he had a different look and a different character.
My issue with Sheamus' new character is two fold. I really don't like his new look, I think it looks stupid and immature.
I mean he's supposed to be this big intimidating bully but he takes the time out of his day to braid his beard?
Then we have his hair, that's just ridiculous I don't think I need to explain why. My Second issue with Sheamus is his new attitude, I don't think it suits him.
This isn't me complaining because he isn't face, because if I'm honest I think he makes a better heel.
He is able to draw a reaction out of the audience and makes you genuinely dislike him as a person rather than as a character. His new attitude however doesn't suit him, he is a brawler not a bully.
The way he won that match at Money in the Bank made me feel like there must be a clause in his contract relating to having a certain amount of title shots/reigns.
This is because when he went out injured he had just lost the United States Championship to Rusev, and after he came back he was thrown into the Intercontinental Championship picture.
He was unsuccessful in a lot of his matches after his return, unless it was a dirty victory which made the fans like him even less.
I'm not sure where WWE creative are going with him, but I just can't see where Sheamus is going to get the chance to cash in.
I really don't see what storyline angle they are going to go with either.
