Manchester United are set to dig their heels in with regards to the potential sale of David de Gea to Real Madrid, and will demand both Keylor Navas and Sergio Ramos in return.
That’s according to Spanish mouthpiece Marca, as relayed by the Daily Mirror, with United said to want to do a deal for De Gea on their own terms, not those of their Madrid-based counterparts.
For some time it’s looked inevitable that a deal for De Gea will be struck sooner rather than later. Earlier this week it was claimed both parties wanted the player’s future sealed before Monday, when United jet off on their pre-season tour, and so the Red Devils’ latest demands - if genuine - could provide an obstacle.

Indeed the same report that is generating the Ramos and Navas rumour also highlights that Real will reject said proposal out of hand.
They obviously want De Gea as Iker Casillas’ replacement, but reports suggesting Ramos was unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu appear to have been debunked, and in any case it’s unlikely Los Blancos want two players to leave in the same deal.

Deal still to go ahead?
That said the deal for De Gea is far from off, irrespective of the fact that it will probably take longer to complete than first assumed.
The Spain international is all set to feature for United in their pre-season tour and will certainly travel with the squad, but since he’s not agreed a new Red Devils deal it can be believed that he is keen on becoming a Galactico this year.
Ramos and Navas
Meanwhile Ramos will probably stay at Real and be handed the new contract he’s clearly been pushing for.
After a decade of service at the Bernabeu it was never really feasible that he would be let go without a fight, and although Navas could be put forward as an option for United, it would be a surprise to see Van Gaal opt to land the Costa Rican whilst letting his number one goalkeeper leave.
United fans, is there any chance you can land Ramos this summer? Is De Gea definitely a Real Madrid player? Let us know in the comments box below.
