Robin Van Persie looks set to depart Old Trafford after another injury hit season, this time under his one time national team boss, Louis Van Gaal.
Despite naming him captain of his Netherlands side, Van Persie couldn't find the same favour for his club side under Van Gaal, and was said to play second fiddle to Wayne Rooney, if he were to stay this season.
But Fenerbache have seemingly offered the striker an escape route, and with it, the Reds need to sign a replacement.

Here we look at the possible replacements for the striker who delivered title number 20 for the Reds.
The Tottenham star has had a fantastic season, scoring 31 goals in 51 appearances, as well as making his England debut, in which he also scored.
He has fast become a talisman for his team, and has opened up a instant rapport with the Tottenham fans, who sing that he is "one of their own".
His growing importance to the club is similar to that of Rooney, when the Reds grabbed him from Everton, amidst interest from Newcastle.
Coincidentally Kane has impressed Rooney who has suggested the Reds sign the striker.
If Louis Van Gaal was to listen, the Spurs man could cost in the region of £40 million.
The Bayern Munich forward has been linked with Old Trafford in recent weeks and he would be perfect to replace Van Persie.
Muller has played under Van Gaal and could fit seamlessly into his philosophy, but the main downside would be the expense in signing the striker as well as the unlikelihood of Bayern selling.
So similarly to Cesc Fabregas, the Reds could be chasing shadows all summer and end up with the striker equivalent of Marouane Fellaini.
However, there is hope in that Muller is reportedly unhappy under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola, but would Bayern sell their golden boy?
United have been linked with a £58 million bid.
The Uruguayan has been linked with the Reds in the past, but his wage demands and transfer fee have put Ed Woodward and co. off any deal.
But with Angel Di Maria in the mix, the Reds could finally get their man.
Cavani has frequently been shunted out wide to fit in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and has grown frustrated with this.
With Di Maria unhappy in Manchester, and Paris St Germain once again interested, some sort of swap deal could be put forward.
