Published 1 Comments

Manchester United forward Robin van Persie is closing in on a move to Turkish club Fenerbahce and he today posted a picture on his Instagram account posing with the club’s scarf.

On Saturday Fenerbahce’s president confirmed that the Manchester United man would be in Turkey on Sunday to discuss terms on a contract.

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee with Fenerbahce, believed to be around the £5m mark but not yet announced.

Van Persie is a favourite of van Gaal’s but the Dutch striker endured an injury hit campaign last year and has been linked with an exit since early this year.

And posting on his Instagram account, the former-Arsenal striker posed with the Fenerbahce scarf as he readied himself for a flight to Turkey.

On Twitter, the Manchester United man was pictured in the cockpit ready for take off and a new challenge abroad.

Manchester United will almost certainly now move to replace the departing forward. With Javier Hernandez in talks with Orlando City of the MLS and Radamel Falcao now a Chelsea player, Manchester United are left with just Wayne Rooney as a senior striker.

The Old Trafford club have been linked with a number of top forwards, including Edinson Cavani, Harry Kane and Thomas Muller.

Reports today added Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke to that list, with the £32.5m-rated Belgian international also heavily linked to rivals Liverpool.
