Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has undergone a medical with Manchester United ahead of a move to Old Trafford.
The French international is close to becoming the Red Devils' fourth signing of the summer according to reports, and completes a hectic weekend for boss Louis van Gaal, who also announced deals for Torino defender Matteo Darmian and Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Combined the three players are said to have cost £52 million. The Schweinsteiger deal is worth around £15 million while Darmian set Manchester United back slightly less, which puts Schneiderlin's value at around £24 million.

Previously, Manchester United had one offer for Schneiderlin worth around £20 million rejected and it appeared as though they wouldn't go near Southampton's £27 million valuation. However that has changed overnight and the deal is now closed.
Saints' Executive director said last week: "It’s very difficult to know where his [Schneiderlin] future lies because, yes, there’s interest, it’s been well documented that they made a bid that we turned down, and that to an extent is their declaration of interest.
"I’ve been bracing myself for the big offer that goes ‘Right, take it or leave it,’ and that hasn’t come.
‘We’ve had declarations of interest from a couple, one’s made a bid, and you would expect from clubs of that status that, if they were deadly serious and deadly earnest to bring a player like Morgan Schneiderlin to their club, they would get it done, and that’s really what we’re waiting for, and then we’ll know."
Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with Schneiderlin in the past, however once Manchester United entered the race there seemed to be only one winner. The 25-year-old has penned a four year contract at Old Trafford with the option of a further 12 months.
The deal takes Manchester United's spending up to around £80 million so far with plenty more to come. Robin van Persie's move to Fenerbahce is all but done which leaves Van Gaal in need of a striker, with Tottenham's Harry Kane suggested as the man for the job. Sergio Ramos remains on his hitlist, as does a replacement for David de Gea,
