The agent of Victor Valdes, Gines Carvajal, has offered Real Madrid the chance to sign his client after Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal left the former Barcelona goalkeeper out of his 26-man squad for the Red Devils’ pre-season tour of the United States.
This is according to Barcelona-based newspaper Sport, who understand that Carvajal has a close relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Real Madrid are in danger of beginning the 2015-16 campaign without a top-class goalkeeper, with Manchester United digging in their heels over David de Gea. Los Blancos are not prepared to bow to United’s demands by offering the Premier League giants the services of newly-appointed club captain Sergio Ramos in return.

Carvajal has advised Perez to sign Valdes this summer before signing De Gea on a free transfer when the 24-year-old’s contract expires in 12 months time.
De Gea is unlikely to put pen-to-paper on a contract extension with the Red Devils as his heart is reportedly set on joining the ten-time European champions at the Bernabeu.

Valdes could be stop-gap signing for Real Madrid
Real Madrid are also in negotiations for Espanyol’s competent goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, but there are no guarantees that an agreement between the two clubs will be reached, with the Barcelona-based outfit acutely aware of Madrid’s current predicament.
Valdes could potentially be a useful stop-gap signing for Real Madrid, although there would be concerns for last season’s La Liga runners-up.
Valdes would be a risky signing
First and foremost, there are his emotional ties with the club’s fierce rivals Barcelona. Valdes played at the Camp Nou for 19 years, as a youth and a professional, winning a host of major honours in the process.
There must also be doubts over Valdes’ quality following Van Gaal’s unexpected snub this week. The 33-year-old performed reasonably well towards the end of last season after De Gea suffered an injury, but his performances in training may have convinced Van Gaal that Valdes no longer possesses the ability to establish himself as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper.
It’s possible, though, that Valdes may have opted for a move away from Old Trafford, knowing that De Gea is likely to stay with Manchester United for another season.
Valencia are reportedly interested in signing veteran keeper after Diego Alves suffered an injury.
In any case, it now seems almost certain that Valdes will leave Old Trafford later this summer, having made just two appearances for the Red Devils.
