In the last week or so Manchester City have been linked with making a move for England international and Aston Villa captain Fabian Delph.
The player has only recently signed a new five-year deal with the Birmingham club but reports suggested that there is a £8.5million release clause in the contract.
This valuation was met by City and Villa accepted the bid but Delph has turned down the opportunity to move and will instead stay at Villa Park, according to reports.

After the signing of Raheem Sterling this would have added another home-grown player to the City squad and helped to boost their strength in depth in central midfield.
Good call from Delph?
Rejecting the move can be seen as a good thing for Delph; at Villa he is club captain and a regular starter whereas at City he would struggle for game time and wouldn't play as important a role in the season.
A move to City would have offered him a more lucrative contract however and a chance to compete in the Champions League and fight for the Premier League title.
His rejection of the move shows his commitment to the Villa cause and he will be looking for them to improve on last season and improve on their final standing after enduring a tough relegation battle.
Benteke to do the same?
With Delph's future seemingly sorted they need to now work on keeping another star in Christian Benteke. The powerful Belgian forward has been linked with a move away from Villa Park in recent times with a lot of speculation surrounding a move to Liverpool.
